Welcome to the 6th edition of the NextBase project newsletter
With this last project newsletter, the NextBase project has entered its 36th month and is coming to an end. The most important progresses, compared to the last newsletter, are the improvement on module level. A 2 x 2 mini-module using M2 size tunnel IBC-SHJ solar cell and SmartWire interconnect reached a module efficiency above 22% fulfilling the module efficiency objective of the project. Besides, a 60-cell IBC-SHJ solar module was fabricated and demonstrated at the EUPVSEC 2019 Exhibition in Marseille, France. The NextBase project was under spotlight and attracted many attentions at the EUPVSEC 2019 with a final report, many oral and visual presentations and a joint booth with the sister projects DISC and AMPERE. The NextBase project has fulfilled its mission to bring the IBC-SHJ technology a significant step closer to mass production. Thanks to the whole consortium and especially the work package leaders Frank Versluis (Uniresearch), Paul Procel Moya (TUD), Mathieu Boccard (EPFL), Bertrand Paviet-Salomon (CSEM), Damien Lachenal (Meyer Burger), Eszter Voroshazi (imec), Antonin Fejfar (FZU), and Ravi Vasudevan (CEA-INES) for a fruitful collaboration that made the project a success.
